THE PAST PERFECT

GRAMMAR

PAST PERFECT

We can use the past perfect to show that one event in the past took place before another past event. 
The past perfect signals earlier event. the simple past signals the later event.

For Example:

When we arrived, the party had already started.
She was late to the airport because she had forgotten to set her alarm clock.

When we use the past perfect the form is:

I/ YOU/ HE/ SHE/ IT/ WE/ YOU/ THEY .............. HAD............. PAST PARTICIPLE.
I/ YOU/ HE/ SHE/ IT/ WE/ YOU/ THEY............... HAD (TRAVEL)....... TRAVELED. 
I/ YOU/ HE/ SHE/ IT/ WE/ YOU/ THEY............. HAD NOT.................. TRAVELED.
I/ YOU/ HE/ SHE/ IT/ WE/ YOU/ THEY............. HADN 'T.................... TRAVELED.

How Would Describe The People?


The people have different form of behaving according to the frame of mind or personality.

ANGRY: A person who is furious, for this person is very hard to stay calm.He is angry because he had an accident.

CHEERFUL: Someone who is happy, joyful and in good spirits.
She is cheerful and very  funny when she goes shopping.

We can also use adverbs:

ADVERBS

English adverbs can be classified into the following categories: Adverbs of manner, adverbs of place, adverbs of time, adverbs of time, adverbs of frequency, order adverbs, adverbs of degree adverbs of certainty.
Mode - How?
well, better, fast, slowly, Carefully, Easily
Lugar - Where?
here, there, above, everywhere, away
Time - When?
now, early, late, soon, already, tomorrow
Duration - How long?
all week, for a while, since yesterday
Frequency - How often?
always, never, Often, Once A Day

INFINITIVES AND GERUNDS

Use gerunds or to use infinitives, that is the question! Learning how to use gerunds and infinitives is one of the most challenging aspects of learning English. For this reason was important learn whe we use infinitives or gerunds. FOR EXAMPLE:

  • I like swimming
  • I want to swim

IMPORTANCE: The kind of infinitives and gerunds was very important because it allowed me to learn when to use and when to use infinitives gerunds.
The infinitive
It used:
1. After some verbs like: would like, agree, choose, choose, plan, refuse, hope, want, manage etc.
I want to Become a teacher.
2. After adjectives:
I'm happy to see you again.
3. To express an objective or why we are doing an action:
I'm here to study Inglés. // I have eaten to help you.
Remember that it is not correct to say * I'm here for to study Inglés.
Important:
The negative form of the infinitive is "not + infinitive" I'm happy not to see you again.

The gerund
It used:
1. After some verbs: deny, avoid, can not help, like, dislike, enjoy, mind, keep on, suggest, finish etc.
I finished doing his homework.
2. After a preposition (usually is mandatory verbs or adjectives preposition):
I'm interested in learning English. // I'm fond of playing tennis.
Remember that this category also includes the typical formula of the end of an email or a letter: I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon. In this construction, "to" is a preposition.
3. When the verb is the subject of the sentence:
Smoking is dangerous for your health.
Important:
The negative form of the gerund is "not + gerund" I enjoy not doing anything on holiday.

In this class we learned a new vocabulary to talk about the technologies, the technologies we use for imformacion, do homework, entertainment, etc.

  9.
